Until recently, creating web animations was a painstaking job that involved writing the code directly in the appropriate programming language for the target browsers and apps. But Lottie Animations arrived as a tool that makes creating and implementing animations for any web platform easy.
But what is a Lottie?
Lottie, an open-source system based on a javascript library (lottie.js). This allows web browsers, Android platforms, IOS, among others, to read a JSON file, in real time and in a fluid and optimized way.

Unlike other types of animations, The Lottie is rendered in real-time. The browser or app loads it instantly, in a reasonably light process.
Lightness
With gif or simple png animations we could take up a lot of space that affects the total load of the website. Lottie is so optimal and light that here we compare its size against other formats:

Lottie animations render vector graphics, allowing you to quickly resize animations without losing quality or pixels in the process.

Where do I find Lottie animations?

How are Lottie animations created?
These animations can be created directly from Adobe After Effects, and for their final export in JSON we will need the bodymovin plug-in (or the new, simpler lottie plug-in).
